Experts weighed the benefits of bringing electrocardiographs (ECG or EKG) in house, or using mobile ECG providers or sending residents to the hospital ER for all potential cardiac situations. The conversation covered other forms of treatment and prevention for cardiac situations in skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers, along with identifying the issues that may, or may not, require a visit to the emergency room. The webinar also touched on CMS medicare reimbursement rates and penalties for hospital readmissions.
